Sam Meehan is an Australian film producer, camera person, director, artist and master didgeridoo craftsman from Australia...

Sam Mehan has worked in film for over fifteen years producing short films, documentaries, commercials and music video clips under the name Banana Jam Productions.

Sam Mehan is the co-creator of the world renowned Newcastle Back Packers by the Beach, creating many adventure tours for Australia’s back packer crews.

Sam has co-organised events including large Dance Parties in New Zealand.

Filming, Directing and Editing by Sam Mehan includes:

-The Australian Contemporary Dance & Vocal Workshop Ballarat, held by Darren Disney and Ian Sandercoe. Sam Mehan and Jessica Hallifax, filmed and edited thirty individual student video clips.
-Your Shout Youth Action Team at Taree a Metro Screen Production - 3 minute short film.
-Be Responsible a Taree/Forster Community Drug Action Team incentive – 30sec Cinema Advertisment.
Local young people who were involved in developing the concept and acting in the production included: Tara Steele, Des Donnelly, Stephen Nicolaou, Stacey Dunk, Tyler Nicolaou, Michael Borg, Andrew Mifsud, Kenny Parker, Sean Chapman, Alison Tibbett, Anna Leming, Melissa Parker, Matt Smith, Peter Stubbs and Rebecca Butcher.

-Freedom Bus Ride / Biripi Documentary – 90min Documentary on the 40 yearanniversary of the  ‘Freedom Bus Ride’.
-Beswick Wugular Festival – 45min Music and Dance Documentary of the Festival by the Jawoyn People.
-Garma 06’ – Coverage of the Yolngu Peoples Garma Festival.
-Djalu the master of Yidaki – Djalu giving a lesson of the Yidaki filmed at Garma 06’.
-Rescue Me - Ian Sandercoe’s Music Film Clip from the album Earth Day made in Ballarat Australia and co-edited by Sam.
-Change in Mood – Ian Sandercoe’s Music Film Clip  filmed at Crowdy Head Beach by Sam Mehan and co-edited by Ian Sandercoe and Sam.
-You Wish – A short Film about Big Dreams 7min in conjunction with 7 Mile Productions.
-Guilty – 7min short film entry for the Australian Tropfest competition .
-Gunbarrk Garra – An instructional Film for playing the Didjeridoo or Gunbarrk starring Nigel ‘Bolda’ Hunter (Jawoyn).
-Biripi Culture camp – A 2hour Documentary on Traditional Practices of the Biripi People, Taree, NSW.
-Communities for Children – 30sec TV Advertisement sponsored by Mission Australia, using Ian Sandercoe song Reign.

Didgeridoo's hand created by Sam Mehan from timbers collected with Bill Harney an Elder of the Wadarman People, Bloodwood and Wooli-butts, djalu (master yirdaki). Yidumduma. Bill Harney is recognised throughout the world as a respected artist. He is a Master Storyteller, Songman, Didjeridoo Player/Maker, Painter, and Writer.  All his art forms have the deepest roots in the celebration of his Wardaman Aboriginal heritage and his unique ability to “walk in both worlds” and communicate the joy of his culture to a global audience.

Sam is an educator in Taree NSW Australia working for Tafe.
